30 farmers attended the entrepreneurship development program aimed towards the Scheduled Caste communities within the fisheries sector. The event was sponsored by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, through the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems, Hyderabad. The event took place for 15 days,and was inaugurated by Smt. Pendem Sujatha, MPP Garidepally. She advised the participants to utilize EGS for construction of fish ponds after completing the training and also suggested to go for value addition and marketing of fish. Furthermore, she advised trainees to take up fishery as an entrepreneurial activity for achieving self employment.
B. Lavakumar, Senior Scientist & Head I/c briefed the crowd about the 15 days training schedule and the importance of skill training for increasing the fish production in the state of Telangana. KVK SMS’s A. Kiran, Ch. Naresh, D. Naresh, T. Madhuri and D. Adarsh, N.Sugandhi were amongst the 30 participants from various mandals who attended the program.
Later in the evening, B. Lavakumar took the session on scope of fisheries in Telangana state and its opportunities.
